Frequently asked questions

We’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked questions about Cromlix to help you plan your visit. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our reservations team.   

Staying at Cromlix

When can I check in and check out? 

You can check in any time from 3pm on your day of arrival. On your departure day, please vacate your room by 11am. You can ask for an early check-in when you book, which we will try to accommodate if we can. You can also request a late check-out as you arrive for your stay. Please feel welcome to arrive sooner than 3pm to enjoy the hotel’s facilities.  

Are you a dog-friendly hotel? 

Yes, we’d be delighted to welcome your pooch for a stay. When you arrive, we’ll give your dog a bowl, bed, welcome gift and a special turndown treat. Dogs are welcome in the lounge areas, but not permitted in the Glasshouse and Bar.  

Are you family-friendly? 

We welcome children of all ages, and can arrange cots, sofa beds and extra beds in certain rooms. Children under 5 staying with an adult can stay free of charge. Children aged between 5 and 15 will be charged a bed and breakfast rate of £65.00 per day. Apart from breakfast, all other children’s meals are charged as taken.  

Can you arrange a babysitter? 

Yes, we use an external babysitting company called Little Royals. Just let us know ahead of your stay if you’d like to book the service and we’ll have it arranged before you arrive. Please note: we don’t provide a baby listening service.  

What time do you serve breakfast? 

Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10.30am daily in The Glasshouse. We also offer room service breakfast and can provide room service before 7am on request.  

Can children dine in The Glasshouse? 

Yes, children of all ages are welcome to dine in The Glasshouse. You can view our Children’s Menu [here].  

What is your cancellation policy? 

Cancellation terms vary depending on which package you book. You can find full details of the relevant policy on your confirmation email.  

Dining at Cromlix

What are The Glasshouse opening hours? 

Lunch is served daily from 12pm to 2.30pm.  

Afternoon tea is served from 12pm to 4pm.  

Dinner is served daily from 6pm to 9.30pm. 

Can I dine in my room? 

Yes, if you’d prefer to dine in your room, please just let our reservations team know.  

Can you accommodate dietary requirements? 

Of course! Executive Head Chef Darin Campbell and his team would be delighted to accommodate any special requirements or requests. Please let our reservations team know if we can help with this when you book. Our kitchens handle all 14 legally recognised allergens daily. Whilst every effort is made to avoid cross contamination, we cannot guarantee complete absence of allergens within our dishes.

Do you have a service charge? 

Yes, we add a discretionary 12.5% service charge to our dining bills. 

Weddings at Cromlix

How do I book our wedding at Cromlix?

We will prepare a bespoke quotation for you and then show you around Cromlix and all the celebration spaces. Once you have decided that you would like to have your wedding with us, we take a 25% deposit of the overall cost to confirm your booking.

Once the deposit and contract are received your Wedding Coordinator will be
confirmed and the fun really does begin.

How many people can you accommodate for weddings?

Cromlix offers a range of exquisite locations for weddings of all sizes. Whether it's an intimate elopement, a micro wedding for 12 guests in our
Garden Room or a grand celebration of up to 70 in our Glasshouse Restaurant.

Any more than 70 would require a marquee build on our Croquet Lawn, which it is possible to arrange. Cromlix can help introduce you to third party marquee contractors to facilitate this.

Do you have any packages?

We believe that each wedding is unique and individual. For that reason, we do not have any wedding packages. We work with each couple to create their dream day.

Is Cromlix available on an exclusive use basis?

For the ultimate celebration, you can reserve Cromlix exclusively and have the entire luxurious retreat to yourselves.

Exclusive use ensures complete privacy, with the entire estate and grounds exclusively
reserved for your guests. This includes all 16 bedrooms, the Glasshouse Restaurant, and all the private dining and public rooms in the hotel.

Can I decorate the house?

We welcome all creative ideas; we just ask that we are aware of everything you’re planning and that no permanent fixings are used.

Do I need a Wedding Planner?

It’s entirely up to you how involved you’d like to be. We can help recommend suppliers, or you may wish to work with a Wedding Planner to bring your vision to life. On the day, the Events Team ensure seamless delivery of your wedding.

What other help is available?

We have a list preferred of suppliers, from florists to event lighting specialists, and toptier photographers. We'd be delighted to share these professionals with you.

General Questions

Where is Cromlix? 

You can find us just 3 miles from Dunblane and 10 miles from Stirling. Cromlix is easily accessible from Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport. Let us know if we can arrange a transfer from the airport or train stations.  

Is there a dress code? 

We don’t have a strict dress code, but we’d suggest smart casual attire in the evening.  

Do you offer gift vouchers? 

Yes! We have a wide range of gifts available, which you can [explore here].  

Is Cromlix accessible? 

We have an accessible entrance and parking. However, because Cromlix is a listed building, we don’t have ground floor accommodation or lift facilities in the main building.  

If you need a walk-in shower, our reservations team will be happy to talk through the available options. The Glasshouse Restaurant, Bar and Drawing Room are all located on the ground floor.

We welcome assistance dogs and can provide large-print menus on request.  

What payment methods do you accept? 

We accept Visa, Mastercard or American Express. We can also accept cash as payment at the hotel.  

Do you have car parking facilities? 

Yes, we offer free parking for all our guests and visitors. You’ll find it’s clearly signposted when you arrive.  

Do you have electric vehicle charging? 

We don’t currently offer electric vehicle charging. You can find the closest charging station in Dunblane, 3 miles from the hotel.  

Do you have Wi-Fi? 

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
